Mamiko'ko

Handprinted & handmade bags etc.

Welcome and thank you for visiting my shop. My grandfather was a tailor since the 1920’s and ran his own shop for several decades. Although I have never met him because he died before my mother got married, I know that all my mother’s side siblings do something crafty. Now I do too.

I have lived and travelled different countries because of my profession as an international aid worker. Now reside in Melbourne, Australia. Having experienced many different beautiful local culture, arts and craft in life, I also wanted to contribute myself to something creative.

My bags are all hand screen printed with my own hands and hand made. I use photo emulsion method for screen printing with environmentally friendly, 100% solvent free, water-based ink. For the design, I use Kirigami technique, which is, cutting folded origami paper to make patterns, to make positives for screenprint.

Happy shopping!
